About Me
As a writer, musician, and teacher, I've experienced firsthand the power that writing has to heal. I've published stories about recovery, queerness, and healing. Along the way, I've released three critically acclaimed records and published essays in outlets like The New York Times and Narratively. In 2018, I turned my attention to the nonprofit world to help trauma survivors heal. As a facilitator, I've taught over 700 volunteers, doctors, and nurses to hold space during people's most difficult moments.
In 2020, I combined my skills as a trauma-informed facilitator, writer and educator to launch a private therapeutic writing group for trauma survivors. I witnessed the transformational power of writing in community— when that journey is led with deep care.
From time to time, I run writing groups for the general public modeled after this workshop. Join my Substack for updates on the next one.
